How do you define "useful"?

"Don't study, working is better"
"Science outdated, now is businessmen's world"
"Going out frequently is much interesting than sitting in lab"
"Having large social connection is useful"
"Don't study so much, it's useless"
"Without rich people, scientists are useless"
"Why learn something that you can hire someone to do it for you"
"Top student? My ass. I got my father's business"
"Actors, celebrities earn much more than any science degree holders, don't even need SPM."
"Why? This course is useless in the future, don't take this"

To know is something, whether can be career, knowledge, qualification, skills is useful, don't measure it by using "how much money you can earn from it?"
You might have own opinion, but please respect other's decision. Can be a trash in your eyes, but it can be a treasure for others.

People hate science students, because society pay so much attention to them, instead art and non-science students. Government categorized elite students MUST take science as core, meanwhile isolated poor academic students into non-science class. As time grows, this stigma has been stucked among students, parents or even teacher's mind. Art is for dumb kids, science is for bright children. The hatred grows even more.

Everyday we can see on the social media, people bragging that they earn plenty of money, meanwhile don't evem have a SPM qualification. People saying that Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg were dropouts, still be more successful than university graduates. People debating that experience and social skill are much significant than qualifications, label those high academic students as "book worms", "nerds".
Meanwhile, those "nerds" never insult those dropouts, failed students, art students as STUPID people. Society does.

Science has been labelled as the noblest career since the beginning of civilization. Physics, biology, alchemy, anatomy, geology, astrology, et cetera. This career, this field, this spirit lasted for millennium. It survived war, disaster, great depression, diseases, religious war..... until now, being label as something useless, something that can't bring you money, something that won't let you become popular, something that is compulsory for you to pass in school.

If there is war happened in your country currently, can you use your fame to do something?
Can you use your "followers", "fans" to make changes?
When there is earthquake, buildings collapsed, can you show your property knowledge to recover the building?
When your friends and family have an incurable disease, can you eat your father's company?
When there is no more banks, can you use your credit cards?

When humanity is leaving earth and heading to a new world,
should we bring an economist or a scientist?
Recalling back the movie "2012", which group of people is worth to save?

Money can't buy logic.
